Thank you all for your wonderful advice and tips for my race tomorrow! Here’s the plan I’ve got so far for tonight and tomorrow:

  • Eat a nice carb-loaded dinner (courtesy of Evan!)
  • In bed by 10:00 PM
  • Wake up around 6:30, give my body plenty of time to wake up
  • 15 minute AM Yoga session to get warmed up and stretched out
  • Whole grain and fruit breakfast (perhaps the bagel with nut butter and apple Meghann suggested)
  • Packet pick-up at 7:45
  • A little warm-up run
  • Some stretching
  • Racing at 8:30 AM!

Evan will be getting up that early and going with me (isn’t he great?!) to cheer me on and take pictures! I am so so so excited to get this race under my belt and experience what you all have raved so much about! I’ve been working hard at this for the last 9 weeks and it’s going to be great to accomplish my goal and move onto some new ones I have in mind (more on that at a later time).

Today’s Eats

I successfully started the day off at 5 AM! I did the AM Yoga session of my new DVD and actually really enjoyed the way it helped me slowly wake up. It wasn’t too intense and I was able to keep up with it better than the PM version I did last night. It starts with a couple minutes of warm-ups on your back then flows into 12 minutes of stretching followed by 2-3 minutes of meditation to start the day. Amazing! If you’re looking for a quick routine, I highly recommend this.

After yoga, I was craving a bowl of stovetop oats for breakfast. I made mine with:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 1/2 of a banana
  • 2 tbsp. ground flax
  • cinnamon
  • sliced almonds
  • Bear Naked: Fruit and Nut granola
  • spoonful of MaraNatha PB

I received the Bear Naked granola as a sample in the mail and it was perfect in my oats!

At internship I had a mid-morning snack of a Clif Mountain Mix Mojo bar.

Lunch was an Amy’s Black Bean Burrito, Sargento Cheese Starbursts and Cherries.

I’ll be having my pasta dinner tonight but I’ll update you on it tomorrow during my post-race post! I’m in for a relaxing night with my boy and getting in a good state-of-mind for tomorrow!

Have a great night and HAPPY FRIDAY!

PS I posted pictures to last night’s post.
